Job description
DevOps Engineer (Windows)
As a DevOps Engineer (Windows), you will join our client’s team, one of Europe’s leading companies in the gaming industry. You will play a key role in optimizing, automating, and maintaining the client’s existing on-premise infrastructure with a focus on Windows environments. The position involves working extensively with Windows Server and Windows image management, including build, configuration, and deployment processes. Your expertise in PowerShell, image automation tools (such as Packer), and CI/CD platforms will help streamline workflows, improve system reliability, and support the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions. You will collaborate closely with the client’s DevOps and engineering teams to enhance current systems, introduce automation where possible, and ensure that Windows image pipelines are efficient, stable, and maintainable.
- Manage and optimize Windows Server environments and Windows image pipelines (build, configuration, deployment)
- Automate infrastructure processes using PowerShell and related scripting tools
- Work with build and deployment tools such as Packer, TeamCity, GitHub, and Gitea
- Contribute to improving the performance, scalability, and reliability of existing systems
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Windows-based deployments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and deliver automation and optimization opportunities
- Ensure system stability, perform troubleshooting, and provide ongoing maintenance of infrastructure components
- Document infrastructure configurations and operational procedures to support transparency and consistency
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps or system engineering roles focused on Windows environments
- Proven experience with Windows image management (build, configuration, deployment)
- Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation
- Hands-on experience with Packer (Windows Deployment) or similar image-building tools
- Familiarity with TeamCity, GitHub, Gitea, or comparable CI/CD and version control systems
- Solid understanding of on-premise infrastructure operations
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and propose scalable solutions
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English
- Experience with Grafana, OTEL, or ELK Stack for monitoring and observability
- Familiarity with KVM, Proxmox, or KubeVirt virtualization environments
- Understanding of DCIM tools, server management, networking, and on-prem services
- Background in gaming, high-performance systems, or large-scale infrastructure environments
